A charity campaign held in Lithuania enabled the purchase of more than 2,600 drones intended for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The initiative, called Radarom!, was launched in February and raised about US$ 6.7 million, with contributions from Lithuanian citizens and companies supporting the country at war.
With the funds, 2,609 drones have already been purchased, in addition to an advance payment for the production of another 320 locally made devices. Approximately US$ 3 million was invested in the national drone industry, while US$ 1.9 million was allocated to strengthening Ukrainian manufacturers.
According to Monica Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė, CEO of the LRT broadcaster, the campaign is based on transparency in the use of the funds raised. She highlighted the ongoing involvement of Lithuanian society and the importance of contributing directly to Ukraine’s defense.
The campaign was organized by LRT in partnership with the institutions Blue/Yellow, Laisvės TV, and Stiprūs kartu.
